“10 New People Types” - vocabulary

1. CLASS ACT = an admirable, noble person, full of class

2. FLAKE = an unreliable person

3. HEADCASE = a neurotic, eccentric, or crazy person

4. HEARTTHROB = a person who’s adored by lots of people (often “teen heartthrob,” like Ricky Martin)

5. KLUTZ = a clumsy person

6. LUSH = a person with a weakness for drink

7. PARTY ANIMAL = someone who loves partying, drinking, and acting crazy.

8. PRUDE = a person with conservative morals who wants to appear righteous and modest.

9. SCATTERBRAIN = an absentminded person

10. SISSY = a weak, cowardly, and effeminate guy

“People Type Skits” - a writing, role play activity
—————————————————————

Once students get a feel for the above words, put them in groups of 3 or 4. Each student will choose a “people type.” Each group will design a short skit (one or two minutes long) in which a “people type” is demonstrated but not mentioned outright. After the performance, the rest of the class will guess which
student represented which type.

Try setting the skit at a New Years party!

F. is abnormal, weird, strange
G. a promiscuous woman. (Not a nice word, but common. Be careful with it!)
H. complains in a childish way,or gets upset too easily
I. nothing works out for him; is doomed to failure
J. is moral, decent and conventional and probably a little boring
